Philosophy and Purpose

The Potter's Hand Ministries was established to provide a positive, Christ-centered environment for students to study the disciplines of all art forms and be nurtured in a wholesome environment. Founded and directed by Debra Collins, The Potter's Hand Ministries is dedicated to helping students develop physical and technical skill while deepening their relationship with Christ. The ministry's goal is to glorify God through the celebration of the arts and to train future artists for service to the church as well as the community. Our desire is to bring the creative arts back to the church.

The Potter's Hand Ministries strives to facilitate God-centered opportunities to help students discover their God-given gifts and use these gifts for His glory. Students are exposed to a varied curriculum including devotions and Bible instruction; ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop and folk dance; mime; creative movement; weight sharing; word in motion; choreography; creative writing; art in several disciplines; and creative worship to encourage and inspire them to appreciate the discipline of training and to experience the joy of worship through the arts.

Our ultimate goals are to reach people for Christ, as well as minister to the believer's heart while developing in them a Christ-like personality and encouraging them to discover their purpose in the world in order to praise God through the arts.
